The network inside a robotic work cell: robot controllers, PLC, safety systems, vision and the connection to the plant network.
Drawing diagram…
Network topology for a robotic work cell: two robot controllers, a vision system and conveyor drives connect over PROFINET/EtherNet-IP to the cell PLC; light curtains, door interlocks and e-stops connect to a safety PLC over a safety protocol (PROFIsafe/CIP Safety); an HMI panel sits on the cell network. A managed switch and firewall connect the cell to the plant network for MES, and remote access for the robot vendor goes through a jump host.
